- OK, run FCSInstall.exe to install the program and enter you unique identifier. Allow any warnings from firewall or AV programs.
- When Internet Explorer or FireFox opens a S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® ‘always on top’ window also opens that you can drag anywhere convenient on your screen. It shows the icon of the active program, or the security state of the active browser window.
- When you are at the site of a S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® subscriber, the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® window will show their logo, giving you confidence it is safe. When you are at the site of a known spoof site it will go RED and the site will be blocked to help prevent malware. You have to acknowledge you have seen this warning by clicking OK on a warning window. If the site fails S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® it will display a yellow warning to proceed with caution and if it is not known it will display a Grey window.
- When the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® window is green left click on it and a list of secure links provided by the subscriber will be displayed. If the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® window is yellow or red you get a list of secure links chosen by FCS.
- Hover the cursor over a logo protected by SOLID 3PV™ and if it is authentic and on an approved web site a small window will appear showing the logo and move to the S.O.L.I.D. Authentication® window
- When the use of a logo is not approved by the logo owner SOLID 3PXtrade; will display a small window showing the relevent logo with the words 'Not Authorised' written over it.
- Right click on the window and you can exit the program, leaving you unprotected if you continue to use your browser.
In summary, if the web site you are visiting subscribes and you don't see their logo, beware.
Just glance at the window.
